2 Week Doctor's Appointment

Enjoying his swaddle

Snuggling with daddy
Griffin had his two-week doctor's appointment this afternoon....he is measuring 21 1/2 inches long and weighing in at 8 lbs 4 oz. Our little guy's weight actually elicited a "wow" from his pediatrician, who was very impressed with his growth. So, as we suspected, Griffin takes after his daddy and has quite the appetite! He certainly takes after his daddy in other areas as well...drinking a lot...partying all night...sleeping all day.... :)

Griffin has had some recent family visits...my mom was here all last week...Grandma Kris, Auntie Deanna and Connor came for a mid-week visit...and Auntie Kayla came for the weekend to finally meet her nephew. As of Sunday night, we were on our own and are working [diligently] to develop our own routine.

First Doctor's Appointment

Ready for our first trip out of the house!

If only he'd sleep like this at night...

Waiting for the doctor

Griffin had his first doctor's appointment on Monday; we are happy to report that Dr. Belter was pleased with his progress in the two short days that we'd been home. Griffin weighed in at 7 lbs/6 oz, which is only 1 oz from his birth weight...the doc commented that this was a good thing, as a lot of babies are still losing (he measured 20 3/4 inches long). After the few hiccups we had in the hospital, it was comforting to see his written report with only one comment from Dr. Belter: "doing great!"

Mommy and daddy, however, decided that we have never felt so many bumps in the road or seen so many crazy drivers as we have in the two whole car rides we've taken with Griffin. On the way home from the hospital, we needed to drop off a few prescriptions...we actually had a debate on the pros and cons of making one turn into Walgreens and sending the written scripts through the drive through window with Griffin in the car. Driving with baby: a newly-discovered parenting stress and one of the very few pluses of having had a c-section (I get to wait to experience it for a few weeks!).

More Griffin...

Here are some more pictures of Griffin taken in the hospital. If nothing major changes before tomorrow, we both should be on our way home! :) We cannot wait to get home to our own beds (I hope I also speak for Griffin on this one) and get into a routine.

Baby Griffin is Here!

We are so blessed to announce that on April 14, 2009 at 1:22 a.m. at 7 lbs, 7 oz and 20 inches long....Griffin Thomas Pucci made his way into this world! We are quickly learning that our sweet little boy has a mind of his own, as we were fairly convinced that we'd be going into the hospital for some tests on Monday night and then be on our way home, but a few hours and one c-section later we became parents.

We heard from [everyone] while I was pregnant that "our lives would never be the same" and we always smiled and nodded our agreement, but in a second the reality of that statement became very clear...we can't imagine what it was like without this little man in our lives!
We should be home from the hospital this weekend, and once we are there we'll post some more pictures of our new family.
