It is definitely hard to believe that my baby Duncan is 8 months old...four more months and this little man is ONE YEAR old. Crazy... Duncan is becoming quite the hambone. His accomplishments at 8 months include crawling, now quite swiftly. And the past couple of days he has started pulling himself up; unlike his brother, however, Duncan knows how to fall. Griffin was too afraid to bend in the middle...and fell like a tree. Duncan, on the other hand, thankfully bends. And he has a cushy little bootie to soften his landing! He is "talking" up a storm and is very into mimicking right now...especially if it involves sticking his tongue out. He really wants to wave...and when waved to, he will look at his hand, a finger or two will twitch, and he will look up as if to say...hmmm..I am trying...see that?? He adores two major things in life: Tucker and his big brother. To Duncan, both are amazing and amusing all at the same time.
And, nearly needless to say, D still LOVES his food. And not really his bottles...he is more into his solid foods. He tries it all and for the most part eats it all...in large quantities. I never made this much baby food for Griffin. Duncan plows through the food I make him at an amazing rate. Honestly, I love my little Beaba Babycook but that machine and I need a break from each other! He is doing finger foods now and has gotten the hang of feeding himself. But...don't think about putting him in his high chair too soon - he will not wait to be fed. If he has to wait more than 90 seconds between the clicking of the tray onto the highchair and food being placed in his mouth, look out. And I'm pretty positive that he isn't always just that famished...instead, it appears we have a little "diva" on our hands. What do you call a male diva anyway? A typical man? :)
Diva or not, I love this little man with my whole heart, and every day as I look at my two boys I am so thankful that I get to be their momma -- it's the best job around. I mean just look at them!!!
| And in the regular bath with his brother, he thinks it is pretty amusing to get on his knees and then stand up, much to Mommy's chagrin. |
| It all goes in Duncan's mouth. There is no discretion. |
