Sprinkle!

A couple of weekends ago we were treated to a "sprinkle" for Baby Boy Pucci Number Two by some awesome friends. Because it is our second, it was small, but it was a lot of fun and the details were beautiful. Thanks, Liz and Ashley for spending so much time and putting so much thought into everything! We had a great time and are so grateful to have you in our lives!

The candy table...all blue...took a lot of running errands, I believe, to find all of this yummy blue candy. :) Even more special is that Liz used her kids baby spoons for the servers!

There were other details as well...the fireplace had a garland of Baby Pooch Number Two's full name (love it!) and there were blue pom poms hanging and garland on the staircase, too. Nothing was forgotten and it was as if Martha herself helped out.

The candy had to be moved back a bit after Griff discovered the table. And this wasn't it...there were two other rooms filled with food. Actually thinking about it right now makes me very hungry....and I have to remember to get some of the recipes as well.

Handpainted onesies using Griff's playroom curtains as inspiration. I'm pretty impressed with this handiwork.

The favors were candy bars with personalized wrappers...with Griff's pic and an ultrasound pic as well...thanking the guests from our two "sweeties."

And one of the most fun parts about the sprinkle? For this shower (a couples shower) Ben got to [had to] join and help unwrap gifts! :) He absolutely loved it (ha!). And of course Griff was there. To my surprise he took little interest in opening the gifts after he realized there wasn't much in there of interest to him. No Buzz, no Woody...no whales. Only adorable things that I can't wait to put in the nursery (almost there), some cute outfits, and some major necessities. Poor Griff.

And Griff's favorite "babysitter/girlfriend" in the world...Claire (or "Clairecake" as he calls her...this is something he's got with names lately...he adds "cake" to the end). These two snuggled up and watched a couple of movies while the adults talked and enjoyed the yummy food and drinks...isn't this adorable?

THANK YOU again to all of our great friends who planned this...and those who attended...we really didn't think BP#2 would be so spoiled, or that we would, either!

Griff the Clown

Griff loves to clown around...ESPECIALLY when he has an audience. Believe me this is nothing new, but we have a few examples from the past few days:

I just thought this was a cute pic...he was pretending in the bath earlier this week that he was eating "snack" (a washcloth folded up into one of his stacking cups) and drinking "mulk" (his word for his favorite thing in the world: milk!). Here he is drinking a big glass of his MULK.

And here is our little guy displaying his 100% boyishness by checking out an ant on the floor (brought in, I might add, by his penchant for chucking pieces of food on the floor when he feels he is finished that get stuck under the chair cover of his chair). He followed the ant for quite some time (Mom! Bug! Bug!).

And here he is deciding that his shorts were more appropriate on his head.

After he got them on his head, he proclaimed he was wearing a "hat." Then, he tried to put his arms through the leg holes and was frustrated when his attempt didn't work..."oh, NO...no shirt".

And, with some help from Gpa Tom and Gma Kris, we had a garage sale this weekend...where Griff found Daddy's old trumpet. Here he is attempting to belt out some tunes.

Wrong end!

Low Riders

We had a low-key weekend...it was cool, so we didn't make it to the pool either day. Saturday we spent the bulk of our morning at Best Buy doing our part for the economy while getting the electronics we needed for the basement (which is DONE, absent the bar top and glass for the shower). We came home with quite a bit...and of course Ben ended up going back a few times for exchanges, but after a lot of wiring, frustration, and re-thinking we are getting there (or Ben is getting there, this stuff is completely out of my element, all I do is sit here and google his occasional question.

And today after Ben's golf and G's nap, we hung out in the yard and painted the coffee table we are going to have in the basement from a lighter wood to black - it turned out much better than we expected and we're happy. And while Ben and I were working on the table, Griff was hanging in his Jeep, raking some mulch, finding golf balls in the yard...and about every 5 minutes he would run up to the table (wet with paint) and either stick his hand in it to make a hand print....or bounce a golf ball through the middle of the table...or take the paint lid and throw it into the mulch...you name it. And the paint was drying FAST in the breeze so we weren't able to hide all of the imperfections. So, every time we sit a drink down on the table near one of the golf ball dents or a partial handprint, we'll think of Griff!

This was Griff's outfit for the day. Don't mind the Sox shirt...Grandma Kris (the White Sox fan in the family) got Griff and Connor matching shirts when we were downtown last summer for the game). :)

And as the day progressed, so did his shorts down his waist.

Until his favorite undies were hanging out....

The shorts dropped completely several times but he was not bothered.

My Truck!

Griff was the recipient of an awesome new Hot Wheels JEEP from our friends the Castros...and he loves it! He calls it "MY TRUCK" and loves to get in/out, drive, listen to the (real) radio...all over the yard. In fact, it was pretty difficult to get him to come in tonight and leave "his truck," even though we were getting eaten by mosquitoes.

This was after he kept saying "C'mon Tucka!"...so mommy helped a little bit.

And the radio was set to a Christian talk station...which is what he rocked out to (w/o music) for the first few laps.

Gymnastics

Griff had his first gymnastics class tonight...we were rushed getting out the door and thus I forgot a camera, but I snapped a couple of shots on my phone. It will be a weekly class so I can get better ones soon...but he loved it and listened very well. I was proud.

Little Helper

Griff was so sweet to help me water yesterday afternoon...given the temps lately (especially today!) the plants needed it!

And Tucker even found a way to beat the heat over the weekend
