Duncan's First Birthday Party!!!

Well it is no secret that Duncan Pooch is ONE!  And in order to celebrate his very first birthday, we decided to throw a safari bash for the baby of our family...  And little Dunc, please know that your b'day bash was even more planned, decorated, and attended than your big brother's.  So, not everything that you get as a second child is with less fanfare.  :)

We played safari music from the speakers (and I think it haunted us all for days).  We ate food with safari-esque monnikers (think hippotato salad, gazelle dogs (drizzled in tiger blood, of course), giraffe niblets, zebra burgers, etc).  Like much of this summer, it was hot that day, like Africa.
And to cap off the experience, we had a lot of friends and family over to experience Duncan's First Birthday Safari with us.  Perfect!

I hope you had a great time, Baby Blue Eyes, and that these pictures will make for some great memories!  We love you more than words and you amaze us each and every day.

Miles Apart...

At the end of June/beginning of July, we were fortunate enough to be able to go out to Rhode Island to celebrate John and Jen's wedding!  And when I say "we," I mean Ben and I...Griff and Dunc did not make the journey, instead making a voyage of their own to Gma Khaki and Gpa Bill's house.  And though I was nervous - this was my first "real" time away from the boys - I had an amazing time.  It was relaxing and GOOD to get away.  And, the boys had a blast at the farm.  Griff is still telling stories about his "new, huge" sandbox, his "tractor swing" and let's not forget the time that he and Gpa Bill went for a tractor ride and ran out of gas.  Yep.  "And we had to RUN to Gma Khaki's house!"

Gorgeous wedding venue, right?!?

Uncle John and Auntie Debbie

I went for some scenic runs...loved every second!

LOTS of fun shopping, including this locale that I did not make it into.  This photo was for my partner, Ben Schwarz, who, allegedly, is a big "supporter" of this store!  I had to take a shot as I went by on a run.

We had a blast with Uncle Pat and Auntie D

Our great Marriott on the harbor

And while we were away...Griff learned to drive a semi truck.

And the boys got to play with Mason and Gma Khaki in their new HUGE sandbox...huge sandbox, huge hit.

Not to mention their tractor swing!

Duncan remained SO BIG

Griff decided to take some snaps of his own

Gma Khaki even braved PIZZA OUT with the boys.  Brave, brave, brave!!!

Thanks, Gma Khaki and Gpa Bill for taking such awesome care of the littles while we enjoyed our time away.  It was much needed and we made some lasting memories!  :)
