Play Date at Ty's!

As I previously posted, Griffin had a playdate at his bud Tyler's house last week (and he also got to play with Ty's older brother, Luke, who Griff was in awe of). Ty had lots of fun toys and the mommies had lots of good chat time! We're both looking forward to many more get-togethers soon. Nicole (Ty's mom) sent me these pics, as I was delinquent and forgot my camera...and the boys were very tired by this point -- hence Griff's exhausted face. :)

These two have really developed a bond at school; last week Ty's dad came to get Ty and was holding him and Griffin would not tear his eyes from Kevin. He wasn't so sure of who was holding his friend! And today at school the two were sharing food with each other (quite the sharers, they are!) and Griffin kept petting Ty's head -- Ty got a hair cut last night and Griffin thought that was pretty cool.

Busy!

We've been busy as of late, and I have neglected to take any pics in the past week...so we're relying on others to help us out. Ben got home early (yay) and so we were able to spend a few days together before he headed out of town again tonight. Griffin had his first playdate at Ty's house this past week, as well, and he (we) had a great time! And then last night Auntie Honey came over to play with Griff AND watch him so Ben and I could go out. THANK YOU, Auntie Honey, and below are some of the pics that she took.

No matter how hard we tried we couldn't get Griff to look at the camera. He was getting tired in this pic (soon before bedtime for him) and all he wanted to do was squirm and laugh and make funny noises.

Down & Out

Our poor little man is under the weather -- again. Ben got home Friday night and it became evident throughout the night that Griffin had a very upset tummy....which has continued...and continued...all weekend. And as Griffin's upset tummy continued it became apparent that Mommy's tummy would also be affected. Lucky Ben got to get out of the germ pit this afternoon as he is going to be gone again this week; unless something crazy happens, it looks like Griff and I will be home sick tomorrow.

But on a cheerier note I was looking through some pictures I took this week and came across some crazy blueberry shots. Griffin loves his blueberries. The blueberry mess, however, isn't exactly something I'm too fond of...getting blueberry stains out of his clothes is easy but getting the stains out of his cuticles - not so much!!!

Crazy Friday Night

Since Ben is still out of town (should be flying in as I type this), Griff and I decided to spend our Friday night out shopping. We had to pick up some more sippies (our bottle termination date is rapidly approaching!) and some other odds and ends...and of course some fun things fell into the cart for G-man. We found a cute Cubs hat that fit, and when we tried it on Griff didn't want to take it off (which was okay with me, he looked so adorable). When we went to checkout, he wasn't happy that I had to remove it to pay...but I quickly put it back on and he wore it home. ALL the way home. :) I snapped some pics on my phone:

This pic is fuzzy because he was jumping up and down in his seat with excitement in the parking lot. He is SO MUCH FUN.

Big Slice!

Well our little Big Slice has a front tooth, finally. Granted, it's only one of the two that have been torturing him for the past few days...but he has been in a great mood all day and doesn't seem to be in pain anymore, so we'll take it!

PLEASE...PLEASE Bring on the Teeth???

Well the teething situation isn't getting much better. Griffin took a rock-star nap this morning, and then we ventured out to do some shopping... but it was downhill from there. Griff is happy one minute...and screaming in pain the next. It's really disconcerting, as when he's upset he's UPSET...and none of the usual (singing, music, paci, cuddles, bath, blankie, Tigger) will calm him. He refuses to chew and he won't let anything in his mouth, not even one of our fingers to massage. He's not really eating much, and I even tried some mushed up frozen strawberries; I thought that would be cool on his gums and might feel good. He took a few bites, then cried....so we resorted to Tylenol and we just rolled with it from there. Finally before bed we were able to see our happy baby who didn't seem to be in pain. I'm telling you, if those teeth don't cooperate soon, I'm going to wrap the inside of his paci with sandpaper. :)

In the spirit of the Olympics, Griffin decided earlier this week to climb the stairs (ALL of them). Tonight we re-created the event to distract Griffin and it worked for a while.

By the way, he's only without clothes because we tried a bath as a calming technique which he'd have NONE of and we could only get a diaper on him after that.

We even tried to show him that Tucker REALLY wanted to wear his shirt (just as we show him that mommy and daddy LOVE drinking from sippy cups -- the other night at dinner all three of us drank from sippies)....

And while Tucker didn't mind wearing the shirt, G would have none of it.
