Four Months Old - !

As mentioned in a previous post, Griffin recently turned the big 4...months old, that is. We went to the doctor yesterday...and it was a big appointment. Stats-wise, G is 17 lbs and 25.5 inches long (again, this measurement is a complete guess, in my opinion, based on the method...but I've expressed that (also in a previous post) so I won't mention it again). He remains in the 75th-90th percentile for both (his head circumference is around the 50th percentile).
We were able to ask Dr. Fell the pressing questions (set forth in a bulleted list) about our little guy (item one: when will he sleep at night!?!?!?). Griffin decided to show Dr. Fell his new trick throughout the appointment (yelling/shrieking for fun/excitement)...causing Dr. Fell to note that he really vocalized well, and clearly liked to hear his own voice (more and more like Ben each day?). The reason it was a big appointment was that, when asked about G's night sleeping issues, Dr. Fell clearly stated: "He's 17 pounds. He can sleep through the night." And since he doesn't, we were told that he is now old enough to let him cry (Ferber/cry-it-out/interval method). No one is too excited about that, but if it gets us sleep at night sometime soon, we are certainly going to put in the work!
Otherwise, Dr. Fell said G was doing great -- developing well, growing well (quite obviously) and all of the good stuff. He got his shots (which mommy hated) and then we were off to Babies R Us to buy some new toys, bowls, and some rice cereal. That's right, solids: here we come...we started this morning! Below are some four-month old pics.

G and his Mickey

His hands are constantly in his mouth...always chewing, chewing, chewing!

Just waking up (mommy thinks I'm especially cute when I am waking up)

  1. He is soooo cute! Love the new pics and I am glad to hear the doctor's appointment went well. Crying it out is hard...call if you ever need to chat, need support, need to talk so you can block out the crying...anytime! :) Can't wait to see him again in September!
