Biter Biscuits

We can't decide whether it's teething or the bug that has thrown a wrench into Griffin's eating/sleeping/just-being-himself-schedule lately. He didn't seem to be "off" too much when his bottom two teeth popped, but maybe the top teeth are more difficult? Anyway, I'm ready for them to POP, and hopefully SOON! I picked up some "biter biscuits" for Griffin to try last week. I wasn't sure if he would like them...I think the pics below show that they were a hit. They make a pretty good mess, but if they give him some relief while being tasty, they are worth it!

More funnies

Here's a video, just for fun, of Griffin laughing at his "rollercoaster" toy (I had to google the name...all I knew is that it is a doctor's office waiting room toy)! We had some fun with it when he was home, again, with Mommy on Friday. It made me feel a little better...because it meant that HE was feeling a little better, too (he didn't have such a great day at school on Thursday). He slept most of Friday, and I hope that after resting up this weekend he can kick the bug that he's acquired.

School and Catch Up!

We've had a lot going on since my last post... To start, Griffin started school last week. It was a big adjustment as he misses Ms. Nikki quite a bit (and likewise, as she keeps telling me!) though she's been to visit him at school (he was very excited to see her). However, he is enjoying himself quite a bit. On our first morning I sat him down to play with Tyler, a little boy who is a couple of weeks older than Griff. G immediately reached over, pulled Ty's socks off, took his toy, and then pulled at his hair....all of which I guess Griffin and Tyler thought was hilarious because they started laughing together right away. Since then they've been great buddies, and as one of G's teachers put it -- it appears that Ty and Griff are always having a private conversation with each other. The two of them are too cute together. And though G enjoyed his first week of school, he also got his first cold...and was home with mommy on Monday as a result. Mommy got some good snuggle time in, and relished that part, but I just hate when he isn't feeling well. His teachers know him well already -- as they told me that he simply wasn't himself and must not be feeling well because he was actually fussy for once. And though his nose is still pretty stuffed up (and his nemesis the boogie-sucker makes an appearance frequently) he's still laughing and playing with his new friends at school.

Last weekend we headed to Indy to take in the IU/Wisconsin football game with Auntie D, Uncle Pat, and Connor. The weather was unbelievable and the boys had a great time (us, too). I took my camera like a good mom, but went to take a pic of Uncle Pat, Connor, Daddy and Griffin as we were walking into the stadium and realized that my batteries were toast (as were D's, so we have zero pics of the little guys together, which is unfortunate as they were so cute together -- Connor was very attentive to Griffin and Griffin in turn thought Connor was hilarious and kept studying his every move). Then Auntie D and Uncle Pat watched G while Ben and I stayed down in Bloomington for the night and were able to enjoy some grown-up time. Thanks for watching G, guys, I know he had a fantastic time, as did we!

This week Griff and Mom are going to enjoy some more one-on-one time together as Daddy has a conference in Miami for the rest of the week (poor, poor Daddy) and then next week Daddy is heading to Philly for a trial (for three weeks, yuck). We will miss him tons, but have the webcams ready to go. And, we are looking forward to heading down to West Palm to visit Grandma Kris and Grandpa Tom for a long weekend and then heading down to Grandma Cathy and Grandpa Bill's for Thanksgiving to see everyone (including Auntie Kayla and Uncle Eric and Griffin's NEW fur-cousin, Darby)! I just realized that Mr. Darby hasn't had a proper blog-intro, so here he is! Can't wait to meet this cutie (neither can Tucker, Dobber, or G).

Cheers!

Okay, I am new at this posting videos (or taking videos, for that matter) business. But last night, Grandma Kris came to visit! And, as Grandmas tend to do, she brought me a lot of fun stuff to play with, to wear, and to snuggle with. Thank you Grandma (and Grandpa)! Griffin loved seeing her, and I'm pretty sure she loved seeing how big G is and how fun to be around he is. We had some time last night to chat, eat some pizza (they don't make it in Florida like they do up here!) and be entertained by G-man.

I was holding Griffin, and by chance I was also holding two wine glasses, as we'd just opened a bottle of wine. All of a sudden I hear this loud, hysterical belly-laugh from Griffin. As the glasses were clinking together, he was cackling like a wild man. He continued to do so for a little while, and though Kris and I were also both cracking up watching him, I managed to grab the camera and get a little video. The camera moves a lot (hence my laughing) and for some reason there's a weird line on it (no idea why) and unfortunately he is not laughing as much in the video as he was in the beginning...regardless, the sound is priceless. Who knew wine glasses could be so entertaining? We tried to replicate the laugh with plastic wine glasses (a little safer for grabbing hands) but he just didn't feel it was the same for some reason.

I can not get over how happy G is on a regular basis, and in turn how happy he makes US.

Playing with my new Silly Town toy from Gma and Gpa...I can roll it myself to make the sounds, and I love it! Thank you!

CLCC Halloween Luncheon

This weekend CLCC had their children's Halloween luncheon, and of course Griff attended in his Nemo costume. Honestly I feel like he's really getting good use out of his first Halloween costume -- he's worn it weekly for the month of October (and there have been several pics on the blog, as you know). But there are more below...can't get enough. :) We had a good time, we met some new people (parents AND kids) and Griff got a LOT of votes for the best costume (so we hear) but the prize was geared toward an older kid, so Griff forfeited this year. There was a lot of SCARY food for the kdis (worm hotdogs and ghost mashed potatoes, anyone?) and fun.

Afterwards, and because Griffin was being an angel, we headed to our friends' restaurant/bar in Crystal Lake, ROCKS Bar and Grill, for some football and some [more] food. We had a great time...the place is very sleek, open, and inviting. Check it out sometime if you are in the CL area...this weekend is the Grand Opening!
